    Краткое описание: —

    Данный урок можно использовать на уроках английского языка, как дополнительный материал по страноведению. Детям представлено вниманию путешествие по островам озер Южного Урала. Посещая острова дети должны выполнять различные задания.

    Ход урока:

  • Организационный момент.

  • We live on the Earth. The Earth is very large and beautiful. The earth is the only planet in our solar system where there is life. Different animals, birds, insects and fish live on the Earth. Different plants grow on it. The Earth is full of wonders but now the Earth is in great danger. Today we are going to make a voyage to the islands of the South Urals’ lakes, find out why the islands are in danger, learn more about the islands.(слайд).Let’s begin our voyage . Set sail. There are 4 islands on our map. We’ll visit them. All of the islands are ciphered and our task is to decipher them.

    We have received telegrams from different islands. Nature is in worry about our lakes and its islands. Let us read the telegrams. (слайд ) All of these telegrams have bad news.

    The first lake is the lake Uvildy. (слайд ) There are 36 islands on the lake. (слайд)

    A lot of people visit the lake. Look at the diagram “Attractive kinds of recreation”. Translate the kinds of recreation from Russian into English. (слайд )

  • There are a lot of legends about the lake. We take one of them.(слайд)

    Legend about the beauty Saima.

    Many years ago in Ural Mountains there lived the beauty Saima. There was no lake there . Only a rivulet ['rɪvjələt] (речушка) flew. Saima lived with her father-fisherman. One local rich man Murza Karym heard about the girl’ beauty and decided to marry her. He presented her black pearls (жемчуг). Saima didn't want to marry him, she threw out pearls into the river. And the river turned into the lake. Not black, but blue. The blue pearl of Ural Mountains.

    Now we can decipher the island. The real island is the island «Vessel » (Korablik) (слайд). Look at the geomorphological map and its legend. (слайд)

    Chelyabinsk region is famous for beautiful lakes. One of the most magnificent and attractive lakes is the Fur Lake and its islands. The lake is situated to the north-west of the town Chebarkul. On its southern side there is the train station “Kisegach”. Nowadays there are no furs but pine-trees around the lake. (слайд )

    The largest island is the Fur Island. The area of the island is 0,15 square km. People joke about this island: “Shoemaker without shoes, fur island without furs”. But if you visit the island you will see a lot of furs. More than that you will see lime-trees, pine-trees and birches. The island has really a lot of furs! (слайд )

    Set sail. 1 island is left. Let’s visit it. We are on the lake Turgoyak(слайд 42), on the Island of Trust (слайд ) . The key for the decipher are 2 questions:

    - Do the tourists need a rope ?

    -Are there special knots in tourism?

    What do you dream to visit? You are right… My dream came true 4 times.

    We are on the Island of St. Vera on the lake Turgoyak. There are a lot of legends about Turgoyak and its islands. I present you 1 of them. Read it with your teacher.

    6. Заключительный этап урока.

    The islands are clean and healthy. Our voyage is coming to its end.

    Let us finish our voyage with a poem.

    The Earth is a garden

    For all living creatures

    For all the human race.
