(1 min.) -Hello, I am glad to see you, boys and girls! Sit down, please.

-p-s: It’s snowing now. It’s rather cold.
-Do you like snowy weather? Why?
-p-s: I like it because we can play snowballs. It’s nice when it snows.

At the age of 20, he began work on the Mississipi riverboats, and became a riverboat pilot. Then he tried many different jobs. He also started writing humorous stories for newspapers and he was well-known as a writer. He wrote his first major book in 1869. He published “Tom Sawyer” in 1876 and “Huckleberry Finn” in 1884. Later, Huck put on a dress he found, so he could go 13) to/in town to get the latest news.
(4 min.)Speaking:
- Let’s do ex.7 (p7 reads the task):
Use the key words to re-tell the episode. The teacher gives the students the cards with words:
Ran away/dead man/ghost/sell Jim/Huck/camp on Jackson’s island/found a house/all sorts of clothes and tools/nobody would recognise him/latest news
- Get ready for re-telling the story. Who will be the first? (1-2 students re-tell it).
(10 min.)Dramatizing:
- It’s high time to dramatize this episode 3. Let’s choose the Widow, Tom, Huck and Jim. (the teacher gives some parts of clothes to the students – a nice hat for the Widow, a straw hat for Huck). And the author will be one of you. So the author will begin the story. (students use some sentences of ex.5,7): 3-4 sentences on each part.
(3 min.)- Well-done, students! And now at the end of our lesson I want you think what will happen to Huck when he is in town. It will be your homework. Write down, please, ex.8 p.43 (in written form). I want to put you marks, open your record-books, please, write down your homework. Your marks are… (writing in their record-books)/
- Well, students, let’s finish our work with a song. Do you remember “Jingle, bells”- a nice Christmas song? Let’s sing it together (students sing “Jingle, bells”).
