Good morning girls and boys! I’m glad to see you. Sitdown, please.

Today we’ll have an ecological expedition “The Earth needs a friend!” We’ll pointed out the most important problems of our planet and discuss all possible ways of solving these problems. Why do you think it’s so important for us to discuss the planet’s problems?

Possible answers:

— we may try to change the ecological situation;

— everyone should understand the present ecological situation;

— we should try to save the world.

Ok. You are absolutely right! Before starting our expedition, I’d like you to pay attention to such folders on your tables. There are 4 cards which would be necessary for you during the lesson. Take the first card, please. This is your personal guide for the expedition. And what is the starting point of our expedition?

It is “the Environment”.

What other words do you associate with the word “Environment”?

Water, sky, river, forest, grass, birds, air, animals, nature, people.

Litter, air pollution, water pollution, ecology, environment, chemical, damage, protect, drop.

Well, you are absolutely right! All beauty of our nature and all ecological problems are combined in one word “the environment”. Open your exercise books, write down the date, class work and the theme of our lesson.

Ok, and now we’re passing for the next point of our expedition. And that is…(2) Now I’d like you be attentive and watch the film about the environmental problems. After this film you have to tick off all the damage that gets our planet according to the film. And name them.

1) Water is polluted.

2) Birds are frightened.

3) Fires are burnt.

4) Litter is left.

5) Bottles, cans and bins are left everywhere.

6) Trees are cut down and painted.

7) Paper and plastic packets are thrown out.

8) Animals are killed.

9) Houses are broken.

10) Flowers are planted everywhere.

And now, tell me please, what is done with our planet?

5) If people didn’t drop litter, it would be cleaner in towns and in the country.

6) If people cleared up litter outside their homes, offices and schools, the air would be fresher and cleaner.

And there wouldn’t be ecological problems.

Dee West, the director of Clean and Beautiful in — Alpharetta, Georgia, began the Green School in 1991. "The Green School was created to teach children how to protect the environment. Now there are more than 20 schools in the Alpharetta area that are participating in Dee West's environmental program.

The children at the Green Schools understand that they have to work hard to protect the environment. They work on several environmental projects, including monitoring and cleaning lakes and rivers, planting trees, studying nature and the effects of pollution, and recycling cans and paper.

The children now know that they should not throw their litter away. They learn how to clean their lakes and rivers.

Now my dear friends, it’s high time for summing up our knowledge. Let’s make the code of ecological rules for all people. You’ll work in 2 groups. I’ll give you such papers. You have to choose from the given expressions, only suitable rules of behavior for all people. I’ll give you 5 minutes to do that.

And now, the 1st group, show us your code of rules and name them. Fix it on the blackboard.

The 2nd group, it’s your turn. And now let’s join these 2 parts together on the blackboard. So what is it?

How clever of you! I hope that starting from that day you’ll try to protect our planet from the pollution not just in words, but in real actions.

And answer the main question of our lesson: what can we do to save the Earth?

We must put our litter into the bins.
We must not cut down and break trees and pick up flowers.
People must not throw their litter into the rivers.
Factories must stop polluting the air.
