Данный ресурс наглядно иллюстрирует то, как можно работать по теме город с использованием метода проектов.В разработке дан подробный сценарий нескольких уроков, который можно изменить в зависимости от имеющейся ситуации.

По большей части при изучении этой темы основное внимание уделяется диалогам на тему «как спросить дорогу» или «как пройти», описанию достопримечательностей и тому подобному. Мы решили пойти по другому пути. Для нас сейчас особенно актуальны вопросы туризма, в том числе образовательного, вопросы воспитания гражданственности и патриотизма, поэтому наш проект в рамках темы «город» мы решили посвятить обсуждению проблемы, как привлечь сюда туристов, что необходимо для этого сделать. Чтобы ситуацию сделать максимально приближенной к реальности, мы представили себе, что работаем в Городской Думе, распределили обязанности, то есть роли, всё продумали, инсценировали и сняли фильм, который отразил все наши надежды и предложения. Предлагаем вашему вниманию сценарий заседания «Новгородской Областной Думы», посвящённого вопросам улучшения туристического бизнеса в городе.

Мы с учащимися 11 класса, изучающими английский язык по общеобразовательной программе, решили подготовить и провести урок в форме заседания Новгородской областной Думы, посвященного проблемам улучшения туристического бизнеса в Великом Новгороде. Этот проект подготавливался на нескольких уроках, а на последнем велись съёмки и подготавливался фильм.

Урок 1.

На уроке учащиеся обсуждали форму, в которой будут представлены результаты работы по проекту «Как сделать наш город привлекательным для туристов». В ходе обсуждения стороны пришли к оригинальному решению — провести заключительный урок в форме заседания Новгородской областной Думы. Учитель и учащиеся обсудили вопрос о том, какая роль отводится каждому участнику заседания. Учащиеся выбрали для себя следующие роли:

М. Алёна – менеджэр по туризму, М. Никита – губернатор Новгородской области, Л. Екатерина – главный экономист Великого Новгорода и Новгородской области, М. Наташа – корреспондент «Новгородских Ведомостей», Н. Ольга – представитель турфирмы из Японии, С. Мария – туристический гид из агенства «Красная Изба», А. Ирина – менеджэр по туризму, М. Евгений – мэр Великого Новгорода, К. Анна – фотокорреспондент, Ме. Алёна – тележурналист из телерадиокомпании «Славия», С. Любомир – директор объединения «Акрон», М. Григорий – главный инженер и по совместительству представитель партии «Единая Россия», М. Ирина – главный архитектор, Г. Галина – учительница истории из Пскова.

Роли учащиеся выбирали для себя по принципу, что для кого интереснее, прослеживались связи с будущей профессией, с дальнейшей учёбой. В качестве домашнего задания учащиеся должны были составить проект своего будущего выступления в черновом варианте, для чего они должны были встретиться с экскурсоводами, гидами, изучить рекламные материалы по Великому Новгороду, вообразить себя теми, чью роль они вскоре должны будут исполнять.

Урок 2.

На втором уроке учащиеся зачитали свои сообщения, внесли коррективы по совету учителя и одноклассников, исправленные работы забрали домой, чтобы переписать их на чистовик и отпечатать на компьютере. Так как чтение по бумажке не очень интересно слушать даже на заседании Думы, то учащимся было предложено подумать, как сделать своё выступление интересным для слушателей. Тут потребовались актёрские данные, выступление нужно было подготовить – что-то рассказать наизусть, что-то прочитать. На дом учащиеся получили задание — подготовить своё выступление в печатном виде для сдачи учителю и подготовиться в устном виде для съёмок.

I am a tourist business manager in our city. I love our city but I don’t like when people call it a provincial town, a big village and other nasty names.. Our city is a historical and cultural capital of our country. We have beautiful nature, amazing architecture and wonderful people. I believe that our city has a European level of importance so we should build good and really comfortable hotels, a stadium and a theatre. We should organize excursions from other cities so that not only Novgorodians loved it but also other citizens of the Russian Federation as well. We should advertize its beautiful architectural monuments on Central TV and radio. We could also print colourful booklets with a short history of Novgorod and photos of the most beautiful places.

Hello! I am the Governor of our region. I would like to speak about the future of Novgorod Region because now we have very bad statistics in economics, tourism and other things.

In my opinion the main industry of Velikiy Novgorod must be tourism because we have a lot of monuments and churches. For example, Spasskaya Tower was built in 1297. Kukuy Tower had the last restoration in the XVII century. Granovitaya palata is a very beautiful place. It was painted in 1441. St Sofia’s Cathedral is the greatest monument of the ancient Russian architecture. I can speak about monuments a lot of time. All these monuments must be restored. And they will be attractive to every tourist.

As I said in our town we have many beautiful churches, for example Boris and Gleb church, Savior on Ilyin Street church, Znamensky Cathedral. We must be proud of them. I said a little about our churches, there are many other beautiful churches on Novgorod territory.

Oh, I forgot about monasteries…Perynskiy skit…Zverin monastery… Antoniev monastery. We must know all our great places. We must know history and culture of Velikiy Novgorod and share it with tourists. Our city’s name is Velikiy Novgorod so we must be proud of it. Now I would like to speak about life in our town. We must make life of our citizens more comfortable. For example, we must build more bridges. Roads must be wide, four stripes, not two. I’d like to build a football stadium, a sports complex, an ice palace. We must not forget about our children. They are our future. We must open new shopping centers because our people haven’t got much choice now. I believe we have a great future.

Dear mayor, governor and other guests! I am glad to see you. I am the chief economist of Novgorod and its region. Novgorod is celebrating its 1150th anniversary. It is a great event and we should get ready to celebrate it. We are going to receive a lot of people from Russia and other countries. By that time we should make the city look the best. There is a lot of work ahead and first of all we have to invest money to build new roads, new hotels, restaurants and shops for people to feel comfortable here. We should get foreign companies interested in investing their capitals into our region. Therefore, it’s necessary to create all possible conditions for them to do it. For example, to create a favourable tax policy, to improve the investment climate, to insure legal guarantees for foreign investments. Thank you for your attention.

We live in Novgorod – a beautiful and really great city. But nowadays there are many problems connected with tourism. A lot of tourists from different countries visit our city. But their number can be much greater. If we make some changes, it will attract more tourists. First of all, we must play on the historical past of our city. When I was in Torrington, Great Britain, I saw an interesting show. A lot of people, dressed in historical costumes, acted out a battle near the city. It looked like a real battle with weapons, horses, and sounds of shots. It was a wonderful and exciting show! I can’t forget it! We can make a similar project. Our beautiful Novgorod had a Veche which was Novgorod Parliament. Russia doesn’t have any other cities that had a veche. We are the first and the last to have it, we are unique.If we could act out this veche in historical costumes and real surroundings we would attract a lot of tourists.I think people would want to see it.

But we have another rproblem. Many visitors always want to stay in Novgorod for several days. But what a pity! We haven’t got much accomodation, very few hotels that we have can’t give a roof to all the tourists so instead of weeks these people spend hours in Novgorod! If we have more hotels (comfortable, of course) tourists will stay in our city for a longer time. I am sure our government can solve this problem and do some other things to develop our tourism. If we do it our city will become really great which is my dream!

I would like to say some words about Velikiy Novgorod. I admire its beauty and magnificense of its monuments of architecture, art and history which your city is famous for. Your churches and cathedrals are magnificent, they impress you with their beauty and greatness and they have a special aura which is unique. I will not find such churches anywhere. You also have lots of monuments. The best of them, in my opinion, is the Millennium of Russia. I have no words to describe it. It is the history of the whole nation in bronze. When I come back home I will write about everything I saw and I hope our editor will be satisfied.

I can’t understand one thing, though. Why hasn’t Novgorod which is extremely rich in architectural monuments become an extremely rich tourist center? Tourist business in Novgorod needs reforms. Your city is a treasure full of historical places but it doesn’t get enough attention from tourists. Reforms in the sphere of tourism must be carried out quickly. It will help to develop your economics and you will leave Europe far behind.

Hello, I am a tour guide Maria Yurievna and I work in Red Izba, a tourist agency. I would like to say that we have a lot of historical places, monuments, churches in Novgorod. But these are only buildings. People want to see historical events. If we, for example, could act out a meeting of the Veche or one of Alexander Nevsky battles, it would attract a lot of tourists.

People who come to us admire St Sophia’s Cathedral in the Kremlin, the beautiful Kremlin park, the Millennium of Russia, the trading side of Novgorod with its beautiful churches. I feel that nowadays people are getting more and more interested in the history of their country. This is our chance – to attract them to Novgorod because we have everything that they are looking for.

Ladies and gentlemen! I as the mayor of Velikiy Novgorod strongly support the development of tourist industry in our city. This year we are going to invest 500 mln rubles into this industry. It includes building of a new hotel and restoration of Alexander Nevsky bridge. We are also getting ready to celebrate 1150 anniversary of Velikiy Novgorod and Hansig League days in 2009. It is a lot of responsibility as we want our forin gests to feel really comfortable in our city. The Federal Government always pays a lot of attention to Novgorod and is going to spend a large sum of money on the preparation for the Hansig League days.

Hello, I am a journalist from the newspaper “New Age”.I feel very proud to be present at such an important meeting of Novgorod State Duma. I’ll try to speak briefly. Velikiy Novgorod is a unique city. You can’t find anything like that in the whole world. Novgorod is the oldest city in Russia which is very rich in historical monuments. But in order to attract tourists it must have better economics which means better roads, better hotels and better environment. Novgorodians are already taking some steps in this direction, let’s remember, for example, ecological project “Clean Coast”. We must all work very hard to make our city more beautiful.

Hello, dear colleagues. I agree that tourism in our region needs our attention and help. As far as “Akron” is concerned, we could provide money for the building of a new hotel in Velikiy Novgorod. We could provide one third of the whole sum needed. Which is about 500 mln rubles. I can see the the chief architect of the city here. We already know some of her projects and we hope that her new hotel will be even better than the Beresta Palace.

Hello. From my point of view, it has become very important to have one more bridge in Novgorod. But where to build it? We have no place. Some people think a good place is near the center Dialogue, others think that it’s better to build it near Shchuseva street. As for me I personally think that probably it would be better if we renovate the Alexander Nevsky bridge, make it wider, four stripes instead of two. It would be even better to renovate two bridges taking into account the bridge in Kolmovo. It’s a good idea.

Question: How much is the bridge going to cost?

Answer: It seems to me it will be about 50 mln and it will take a lot of time.

Урок 3

На третьем уроке происходили непосредственно съёмки заседания Думы. Можно, конечно, было провести заседание Думы и без съёмок, но это значительно бы снизило учебный эффект занятия. Общеизвестно, что дети любого школьного возраста любят сниматься и создавать фильмы. Для съёмок мы использовали цифровой фотоаппарат для видеозаписи и программу записи аудиофайлов на ноутбуке для записи голоса и музыки. Во время урока организовывать запись, сохранять файлы помогал ученик этого класса Максимов Никита, исполнявший роль губернатора. Соединять видео и аудиофайлы в единое целое мы решили с помощью программы “Windows Movie Maker”. Так как мы с учащимися давно ведём работу по изучению истории родного края, то мы имели возможность воспользоваться многочисленными фотографиями и видеосюжетами Новгорода и окрестностей, которые мы включили в фильм.

Знакомство с фильмом вызвал большой интерес у учащихся, в конце они выразили своё одобрение дружными аплодисментами. Самое важное то, что одиннадцатиклассники уже говорят о новом проекте, который бы они хотели подготовить и заснять.
