— Teacher : Hello, everyone! Welcome to our lesson. Today we are going to speakabout travelling and tourism .I doubt anyone can imagine modern life withouttravelling and holidays are a wonderful chance to relax, have fun and explore newplaces and countries.
— Today we shall have a competition of 3 teams .

— Let’s start. Could you tell me what makes реоple spend time and money ontravelling and sightseeing? What are the reasons for travelling?

…аnd as usual on a Thursday morning at this time we take a look at one of theworld’s capitals. Today we’ll be heading to Lisbon, a city almost 20 centuries oldthat offers its visitors a variety of things to see and do. Lisbon is located on sevenhills and on the Tagus river making it a very impressive sight. Its position on theAtlantic coast also means that Lisbon has a pleasant temperature during thewinter and cool summers.
— Lisbon is quite big and about 600.000 people live there but for the touristeverything of interest is within walking distance of the city centre. There are alot of pleasant street cafes and beautiful old houses everywhere in Lisbon. Sowherever you go there are things to see.
— The Alfama is a very old part of Lisbon where you can find lots of very oldbuildings in tiny streets, and of course the famous Castelo de Sao Jorge rightat the top of the hill overlooking the town. The Baixa area is nearby and is a bitdifferent. It has larger streets and lots of modern shops. In the evenings take awalk through the streets of the Bairro Alto area and you will find a lot of cafes,restaurants, and music bars. It is very nice to take the tram but the best way toget around in Lisbon is to take the Metro .You can visit Lisbon anytime of year butthe best times are from April to June and September to October.
