Good afternoon, pupils! The title of our lesson is: “Exam rituals, exam superstitions”. Today we are going to speak about exam superstitions, how to pass exam successfully, we will listen to radio programme about exam rituals. Then we will read a text about some exam rituals in Japan. So, try to be active, don’t be shy! Let’s start our lesson!

1.What is an exam for you? Write three words.

For example: (tests, compositions, problems; learning, reading, revising; stress, shortage of time, mark, etc.)

2. What do you usually do to pass an exam successfully?

1. Ex. 35 p.100 Listen to the radio programme in which teenagers are talking about their exam rituals and tick the rituals they mention:

*Take a coin into the exam

*Don’t wash or cut your hair before the exam

*Don’t take a shower on the day of the exam

*Don’t sit on the desk

*Use the same lucky pen or pencil, rubber etc.

*Use a new pen, pencil, rubber for every exam

*Use the same notebook for your notes

*Wish bad luck to those who are going to sit an exam

*Keep the questions you don’t want to be asked a secret

2. Ex.36 p.100 Listen to the radio programme once again and complete the notes below:
